โญ Why you'll love this recipe

Here are some reasons why you need this orange mango smoothie recipe in your life:

Delicious - packed full of tropical flavors, this smoothie has loads going for it with fresh oranges and fruit inside. You can't beat a glass of this sunshine. The hint of lime adds an incredible zing, too!

Healthy - with loads of soluble fibre, vitamins and nutrients, this smoothie is definitely far healthier as it's made with whole fruit and no concentrated juices like others can be.

Nutritious - the smoothie is full of fibre and helps give you a slow release of energy after you enjoy it. You can't forget the hit of all the vitamins you'll get too!

Easy - there's not many recipes that are this easy - we're talking two steps; put it in the blender and turn it on. What's not to love about that?!

Creamy - to add some more creaminess to this orange mango smoothie we're using a dollop of yogurt to make it extra dreamy.

    ๐Ÿ“‹ Ingredients

You only need simple ingredients for this orange mango smoothie recipe, this is what you'll need:

Ingredients in various bowls with labels.

Frozen mango - you can use shop bought frozen mango for ease or if you get amazingly fresh and ripe juicy ones, you can prepare them yourself and freeze them in chunks. Even better!

Orange - rather than using orange juice like other recipes, we use whole oranges which is better for you as you get all the fibre that goes with them.

Yogurt - we love to use thick Greek yogurt as it adds a lovely creaminess, feel free to use a dairy free version if you prefer.

    ๐Ÿ“– Customizations

We know you love to mix things up with customizations and substitutions so here are some of our recommendations for this orange mango smoothie recipe:

Blueberries - make a blueberry mango smoothie using the same recipe - just throw in a handful of blueberries. You may need to adjust the amount of liquid if it becomes too thick.

Green - if you want to have an extra hit of healthy ingredients, throw in some kale or spinach to make a green smoothie.

Popsicles - pour the orange mango smoothie mix into some popsicle molds and freeze with the sticks in. You'll make a orange creamsicle style popsicle that will be irresistible in the summer.

    ๐Ÿ”ช How to make it

Follow these simple step by step guides to success for this orange mango smoothie recipe:

Before and after blending the smoothie in a blender jug.
    1. Add all the ingredients into the blender.
    2. Place the lid firmly on top of the jug and blend until completely smooth.

    ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ Expert tips

Make sure to read and follow these expert tips to ensure complete success with this orange mango smoothie recipe:

Plunger - if you're finding it hard to get everything moving in the blender, use the stick that comes with the blender to plunge it all in together towards the blades.

Layering - be sure to put the fresh ingredients in the jug first and then layer on the top with the frozen, this helps get the blender going before it hits the frozen items.

Liquids - this recipe is super versatile, so you could use water, milk, coconut milk, kefir, coconut water or a variation of the above. If you want to thin the smoothie down, add some more liquid.

Cleaning the blender - simply rinse the blender jug out, fill halfway with warm water and a tiny drop of dish soap and blend for 30-60 seconds. Rinse out and you can wash the lid separately if needed.

    ๐Ÿ’ญ Recipe FAQs

Can you mix mango with milk?

Yes, it works well with the natural creaminess of the mango flesh. It works perfectly in this smoothie.

How can I store this smoothie?

We'd recommend making the smoothie when you want to drink it for the best results. If you'd like to make it ahead, you can pop the banana, mango and oranges into a freezer bag and freeze until ready to blend. Then simply add the liquid and whizz until smooth. You may need a little extra liquid to get things going as the orange will be frozen in this case.

Alternatively, freeze any leftover smoothie into popsicle molds or ice cube trays.

I looove blood oranges and the colour of this smoothie is really great! I start my day with a smoothie quite regularly too, but nothing beats a bowl of oatmeal.

Don't get me wrong, some days I reaaaalllly have to force myself to drink a smoothie for breakfast, especially in the winter when oatmeal is infinitely more appealing!
