    Why you'll love this smoothie

Some reasons you need this strawberry peach smoothie in your life:

Healthy - We've packed loads of nutritional ingredients into this smoothie. With loads of vitamins, protein and fibre it is a great way to start the day.

Prep time - Time is precious so we love that this is super quick, whizzing up in under 5 minutes. All you need is a blender.

Protein - High in protein, this strawberry peach smoothie is going to keep you fuller for longer.

Seasonal - the love of summer produce is strong in this house. You can use the fresh fruit at the peak of its sweetness and freeze to make the smoothie if you like.

    Ingredients

We're cramming some delicious ingredients into this strawberry peach smoothie, here's what you'll need:

Ingredients for the smoothie in various bowls with labels.

Frozen fruit - for ease, we love to use frozen strawberries and peaches. It's convenient and keeps the flavour strong whilst keeping it cold. You can also buy them fresh in season and freeze them yourself before using.

Greek yoghurt - for an extra creamy smoothie, plus added protein which helps to keep you fuller for longer.

Rolled oats - for a little extra texture and to make the smoothie more satiating.

Almond butter - for even more protein plus healthy monounsaturated fats.

Flavourings (optional) - this strawberry peach smoothie does taste of pie after all, so we need some spice! We used cinnamon and vanilla extract which is extra delicious!

    Customisations & Variations

We all like to mix things up so here are some customisations and variations to play with for this strawberry peach smoothie:

Fruit - mix up the fruit combos. Peaches go well with other fruits such as blueberries, blackberries, cherries, apricots or plums. Try something different.

Thinner smoothie? - this smoothie is quite thick, the blended oats will expand and take on liquid and thicken the drink. If you want it a bit thinner, add a bit more liquid.

Dairy free - you can make this smoothie dairy free if you are lactose intolerant or otherwise inclined. Just substitute the yoghurt for a dairy free version and same for the milk.

Liquids - if you wish to use orange juice instead of milk you can. It will however adjust the whole flavour profile of the smoothie.

How to make a strawberry peach smoothie

Follow this quick guide on how to whip up your next favourite smoothie:

Process steps of pre and post blending the smoothie ingredients in a blender jug.
    1. Add all the ingredients into the blender jug.
    2. Blend on high speed for up to 1 minute to ensure there are no remaining lumps in your smoothie.

    Expert tips for making smoothies

Follow these tips to have complete success every time you make a smoothie:

Frozen fruit - the more frozen fruit you have in the smoothie, the thicker the smoothie will be to start with until it melts. We recommend using part or all of the fruit as frozen because you don't need to dilute flavour by adding ice to cool your drink down.

Order - place your soft ingredients into the blender first with the liquids and the frozen fruit on top. This helps the blender work best and to avoid a thick nice-cream situation around the blades until the rest of it blends.

Cleaning - place the nut butter in the centre of the ingredients and not on the side as it will make cleaning the jug easier later on.

Thickness - If you want an even thicker smoothie just add a few more oats. Or conversely, if you want a thinner smoothie add more liquid.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I make the smoothie ahead of time for meal prep?

Yes! If you want to do this, we recommend filling individual freezer bags or containers with the measured out fruit and keeping those in your freezer until ready to blend! You could also measure out the oats and cinnamon into the bags, but you'll have to add the Greek yoghurt, almond butter, vanilla and almond milk when you're blending the smoothie up. You might have to add a little more milk than listed in the recipe as all of the fruit will be frozen in this case. You could also blend up the smoothie the night before and keep it in a bottle in the fridge, but we wouldn't recommend keeping the blended smoothie much longer than a day as it won't be as delicious!

Can I use a different fruit?

Yes of course! Feel free to switch up the fruits you use to make it your own. Cherries or raspberries would be great in place of the strawberries. If you don't like banana, we'd recommend using some frozen mango in its place to keep the smoothie creamy! You could also use frozen cauliflower but it won't be as sweet.

Can I add protein powder to the smoothie?

If that's your thing, sure! Just add a scoop in when you blend it up. You could also add a spoonful of ground flax, chia seeds or hemp seeds. If you add flax or chia, be mindful that you'll need to drink it right away, otherwise it will thicken up too much.
